Aruna Quadri and other PING PONG players are not to be blamed
When people say Aruna Quadri and other professional table tennis players like Funke Oshonaike did not perform well in the ITTF International Table Tennis Circuit for the year 2015,I keep wondering why this statement. The truth of the matter lies on the fact that Aruna Quadri and the rest of our players to the best of my knowledge have been doing their best to put Nigeria in the ITTF world map while the NTTF just wait and see with some official criticizing them. If we are asking for a change in every facet of our lives including sports then we must tell ourselves the truth. Now we need answers to this questions, Did the NTTF bother to find out the problems our table tennis professionals faced while playing abroad? How many competitions did we get sponsorship and support from the NTTF? What has happened to the catch them young program that existed in our primary and secondary schools? Can't the NTTF get credible sponsors for competitions while they wait for the yearly Asoju Oba Table Tennis Competition sponsored by the late Chief Molade Okoya Thomas? Why do our NTTF officials find it easy to release funds for themselves but difficult to our table tennis players? When was the last time talents were discovered and nurtured? When election comes they will canvass for votes but what is their achievements? Egypt is still dominating the sports so what are their plans to change status? These are questions and hard facts that needs answers so please don't go blame the wrong people because those who are at fault know themselves.
